The EAST NEUK
The ‘East Neuk’ or eastern corner of the ‘Kingdom of Fife’ is one of Scotland’s hidden gems.
Stretching from the villages of Elie & Earlsferry to Crail and Kingsbarns, the East Neuk was once the heart of the east coast of Scotland’s fishing trade.
Visit the gorgeous harbours of Crail, Anstruther or Pittenweem or explore Elie and visit our sister pub The Ship Inn for some delicious seafood on the pier.
Walk the Fife coastal path or just idle away the hours on the white sands of Lower Largo beach, The East Neuk has something for everyone.

GOLFING in FIFE
If Scotland is the home of golf then Fife must be the front room!
There are a plethora of world renowned courses all within a stone’s throw of The Crusoe:

St ANDREWS
St Andrews, Scotland’s world-famous Home of Golf, is known for its historic university, medieval streets and gorgeous traditional buildings.
The town is filled with exciting things to see and do: from St Andrews Cathedral to St Andrew’s Botanic Gardens; shopping in many independent shops to walking along the wonderful West Sands; the history of golf and medieval history of its castle and cathedral .

CRICKET on the beach
Our sister pub, The Ship Inn, just 10 minutes up the road in Elie, is the only pub in Britain to have a cricket team with a pitch on the beach.
Whatever the Scottish weather throws at us, scores of spectators come back year on year to enjoy an afternoon’s cricket on Saturdays throughout the summer.
Elie’s flat, sandy expanse of beach allows cricket to take place at low tide, with the area of play meticulously rolled to provide the perfect wicket.
